I think that I'm gonna start eating all my blueberries like this. I'll burn a ton of calories!

Zucchini Anyone?

We grew this ginormous Zucchini in our garden. We didn't let it get this large on purpose. It was hiding underneath everything. So, Marc thought it would be funny to leave it on our neighbors doorstep and run.

Well, they retaliated...

I came home from work to find this on our doorstep, holding this note:

My parents abandoned me two days ago. I finally found my way home. I'm so happy, you can see it in my face! I have Lindsey's eyes and Marc's great smile and skin color! I've missed you guys so much. I missed Ruka even though she peed on me in the garden. Take care of me this time, and snuggle with me often.

Love,

Sue Keeny

Zion Take II

We made another quick trip down to Zion National Park. We went with a couple of guys that Marc works with and some of their friends. I conquered two of my biggest fears. When it comes to heights and water I am a total wimp. Keyhole Canyon was our first hike of the day.

We started hiking just off the highway. We hiked up the slickrock, through the sand and dropped down off the back of this peak.

Keyhole is a very narrow and deep slot canyon with the coldest water in Zion. We were not messing around with that so we pulled out the wetsuits.

This was my first experience with repelling. It was so amazing. The first repel was about 80 feet.

And you land in water...
The canyon was so beautiful and there is another adventure around every corner.

You end by swimming down a VERY LONG, DEEP, DARK corridor
I found that it really helped me if I screamed and freaked out as much as possible.

We made it out alive and moved on to the next canyon. Pine Creek Canyon was our next endeavor. You have to have a permit for this hike also. There are more repels on this hike and again water for you to swim through.
This repel was beautiful. It's called the cathedral.

The swim through some nasty, stinky deep, murky water

This is the beautiful view right before the last repel which is 105 feet.

This was one of the best weekends of my life. I am so lucky to have a husband that will take me on his adventures and has faith in me that I can do it! Thanks babe, I love you!

Welcome Welcome Sabbath Morning

We went for a quick hike up Grove Creek Canyon this morning. It was so awesome. A few of the leaves were starting to change. I can't wait for Fall!

If you only knew what Marc was doing while I was trying to take this picture...

This was my first year going to Swiss Days. I've always heard so much about it but no one could have prepared me for the madness. We left my house at approximately 6:30 a.m. We arrived in Midway around 7:30 a.m. and there were already tons of crazy craft ladies hauling away their precious loot.
It was only 42 degrees when we arrived and neither Steph or I had a jacket or even long pants. It's amazing how shopping adrenaline will keep you warm. Steph and I were not wasting any time. We only stopped at a booth if something caught our eye. So, we scoured the booths for 3 hours, made several amazing purchases, and we were done. This was the way to do it!

With all that shopping we worked up an appetite so we stopped for one of the famous Navajo Tacos. Who wouldn't want to eat a scone covered in chili and cheese at 10:30 in the morning? I'm not sure I've ever seen so many calories on one plate but it was delicious!

My mom, grandma and aunt's all stayed at my Aunt Jen's cabin in Timber Lakes. We met up with them and compared purchases. It was was such a fun day and we greatly missed the sisters and aunts and cousins that weren't able to come.
