Our Baby Had Babies!

It all started a couple months ago. Ruka was in heat and there was a little black Schnauzer that had been hanging around our house all week. Marc got home from work one day and there was Ruka sitting on the front porch. She only has access to the backyard when we are gone so Marc went to investigate how she escaped. There was little tunnel that had been dug under the fence from the abandoned neighbors yard to our yard (hence the escape route).
So we were a little worried as most parents would be. She is a teenager afterall and she does have hormones, let alone the hormones of the little punk that busted her out of her backyard prison.
So about a month and a half goes by and all the signs were there. She started gaining weight, she was irritable, she had cravings, and she started waddling down the steps on paw at a time. We could tell she was getting close.
So, on Thursday night at about 9:00 it all started to happen. Although we checked on her frequently we played the part of Pa on Little House on the Prairie and waited patiently in the living room while Ma was in there birthin' babies. Ruka did everything all on her own and there were no problems.
We ended up with 3 adorable female pups. One black, one gold with black ears and one that is a mix of both. I promptly named the black one Obama. We'll call her Bama for short.

So, if you are in the market for a new puppy in about 6 weeks, let us know. They should stay pretty small, about 10-13 pounds at the most.

Happy Birthday Mamma!

Yesterday was my moms birthday! I planned a little get-together with our family. We ate at Magelby's where we had bad food and even worse service, but we got some really good chocolate cake out of the deal. Luckily my mom liked her food and she got her favorite buttermilk pie.

She was a very good sport and she even wore the tiara that I got for her.

My mom got a card from a friend that said one of the greatest things in life is who you get to spend it with.

Happy Birthday Mom! I'll try to honor your request and not acknowledge it next year...

but don't count on it!

The Slopes

We went skiing last week. It was my first time in 8 years. It came back to me like riding a bike, thank goodness! Marc is a total pro. I helped him out by sewing back together a certain area of his snow pants before we left. Everyone skis better with warm parts. We had a blast!
I love that the holidays bring friends to town. It's pretty much the only part of Christmas that I look forward to.

THIS...
It's what we do.

Besty Friends

Em came out for Christmas.
I love it when she's here.
There was lots of shopping, eating, rocking out, sledding and laughing.
Thanks for making me feel like one of your family!
I miss you! Come back!

Happy New Year!

We had a wonderful Christmas and

South Family Christmas Party

On Christmas Eve we got together with the South Family to play games and watch movies. We learned that you should always be kind to your family because you never know what kind of payback you will get in certain positions while playing Twister.
