Halloween 2013

This year for Halloween the boys wanted to be Peter and the Wolf.  Back in August when Heath and Steph moved to Kentucky they gave us a bunch of their old children's books.  One of those books was Peter and the Wolf. I read it to the boys and then did a search on YouTube so that they could hear the music.  They were hooked and we had to watch the 15 minute Disney film several times a day for a month!  They both can hum along to all the music and I love it!

Naturally, Griffin would need to be the wolf.  I found a wolf mask pattern on Etsy.  The description on the pattern gave me no idea what I was in for.

Here is the finished product! I love how it turned out but I think I have about 12 hours invested in this thing!  And it was worth it because Griffin thinks it's awesome!

I snagged this photo right after I finished the mask.  He hasn't put it on his face since... Stinker!
The rest of the costume was made by Missy about 14 years ago when Hayden and Taylor were Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf! I lucked out!

Luke's costume was much easier.  The only thing that I had to make was the hat!

I had to bribe him to wear everything by giving him starbursts and a pop gun.  Hey, whatever works!

This cracks me up.  Griffin looks like he's about to attack and Luke has no idea!

I love this little duo!

I had to dress up for work and luckily Kelli had a Cruella Shawl!  Sadly I bought the coat from DI many years ago!
Marc shaved his beard and left the mustache so that he could be his dad for the Wengel Halloween Party.  He was a hit!

On Halloween the boys Trick or Treated at my mom & dad's and then we stayed for dinner.  After dinner we went to GG's where the boys were spoiled with all kinds of fun treat bags and glow sticks!  It was so fun but we missed Heath, Steph and the boys and I know that GG and Kelli missed them too!
It was a successful spooky night and Griffin is already talking about next year!

Cornbelly's

Some girls from the neighborhood and I took our 2-year-olds and spent the morning at Cornbelly's at Thanksgiving Point.  These little kiddos have soooo much energy!

This is just what it looks like... a huge house of corn to roll around and play in.

Look at those cute little knights!
Here are is our whole clan!  Luke, Kelsey, Kade, Hadley, Torrey, Diane and Tristan

A good time was had by all!

Griffin's Fourth Birthday

I really wish that time would stop.  It is so crazy that this little boy made me a momma 4 years ago!  He is so amazing!

This picture was taken after church.  He gave the prayer in sharing time, he was the spotlight (that's where the crown came from) and they sang happy birthday to him!
The 3 things that I wrote about Griffin for the spotlight were
1. Griffin loves music and always wants to be listening to something
2. Griffin loves to be outdoors.  He especially loves to go up in the canyon and look at waterfalls.
3.  Griffin can wink with both eyes and go cross eyed.
While I was sitting at the back of the primary room waiting to help Griffin with the prayer he kept winking at me and it made my heart melt.

Griffin loves to pretend that he is a wolf.  He makes me refer to him as wolf and he is always running around the house on his hands and feet!  He's really fast too!  He loves to look for the moon and howl at it.
So, it seemed only fitting to have a wolf themed birthday party.

Here he is before preschool.  He was so excited to have chocolate donuts with sprinkles for his class on his birthday.

This is the wolf cake that looks more like a dog, but Griffin loved it!

We had our families and a few friends over for cake and ice cream and it was a great time!

Joy School at the Farm

To celebrate a few fun months of Joy School we decided to go out for a little celebration to start our summer.  We met up with the other boy's and mom's at the Thanksgiving Point Farm.

Griff chose to wear his admission sticker on his head--trend setter...

My heart is a little sad that our joy school adventure is over.  These boys are so sweet and it has been so fun getting to know them!  I know that there will be many fun adventures ahead!

All Aboard!

We took the boys to "A Day Out with Thomas."  When we told Griffin where we were going, he immediately said, "Is he gonna blow his whistle?  I don't want him to blow his whistle!"  Griffin does NOT like loud noises.  He was so worked up and worried about Thomas blowing his whistle, I was worried that he wasn't going to have any fun.

Luckily, once he saw Thomas and we were actually getting on the train he got really excited!

Unfortunately, the 20 minutes from the time that we boarded the train to the time that it actually started moving, felt like and eternity.

Popcorn was a saving grace for Luke

Self portraits entertained him for a minute...

waiting

and waiting

and waiting!

And finally we started moving!
The train moved very slowly and lasted about 20 minutes.
Thomas did blow his whistle but we were far enough away that it wasn't ear piercing and Griffin actually loved hearing it!

Griff also loved playing in the train table tent.  We had to tear him away from it to do anything else.  For this same reason he begs to go inside the car wash to play on their train table and we set up track after track at home.  He also knows how to look up trains on YouTube on our phones...  It's getting a little out of hand!  But I'm cherishing his love for something so innocent in this crazy world!

It was great to share this fun day with our boys!   I hope that Griffin will remember it!

Griffin's First Dental Visit

A couple of weeks before the appointment I told Griffin that we were going to go see Aunt Missy so that she could look at his teeth and help him brush them.  I don't know where he got it from but he was nervous right away.  He asked if she was going to wear gloves and was super freaked out about it.  Since we drive all the way to Santaquin we had a long time to talk about it but his nerves never subsided.

He wouldn't even let her get anywhere near his mouth until I sat in the chair and he sat on my lap.  Then it was smooth sailing.  He let her count them, clean them and we even got x-rays!

And, Hooray!  NO CAVITIES!!!

I am thrilled that we made it through and it was a success!  Thanks Miss, You're the best!
